Job Summary of Staff Cloud Platform Engineer:

This role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing virtualized environments to support cloud-native 5G infrastructure. The position requires expertise in VMware, Wind River, and OpenStack technologies, with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will enhance virtualization frameworks, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support high-availability cloud environments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Staff Cloud Platform Engineer:

• Deploy, configure, and manage virtualized environments using VMware ESXi, vSphere, OpenStack, and Wind River.
• Assist in designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant virtual infrastructure across multiple data centers.
• Support the development and maintenance of virtualization frameworks to optimize resource allocation, performance, and capacity plaing.
• Develop and enhance automation for provisioning, monitoring, and managing virtual infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
• Implement zero-touch provisioning (ZTP) and automated recovery processes to ensure high availability.
• Identify and implement optimizations to improve performance while reducing operational overhead.
• Collaborate with cloud, networking, and software teams to ensure seamless platform integration.
• Provide guidance on best practices for virtualization and automation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot virtual environments to proactively address performance bottlenecks and system failures.
• Assist in backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to enhance system resilience.
• Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience of Staff Cloud Platform Engineer:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in virtualization technologies, including VMware (ESXi, vSphere), OpenStack, and Wind River.
• Hands-on experience with bare-metal and virtualized deployments of cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of cluster management, resource allocation, and virtual networking in distributed environments.
• 6+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and operational improvements.
• Experience with VMware Cloud (VMC) on AWS and hybrid cloud deployments is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualized network functions (VNF).
• Strong experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, FluentBit, and the ELK Stack.

Salary:

• Compensation range: $110,100 - $165,000 per year.
