Job Description of Staff Accountant:

DISH, an EchoStar company, is seeking a talented professional to support our financial team. This position will involve responsibilities across accounting, financial reporting, and system management. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our accounting processes, assisting with monthly and year-end closes, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. You will work closely with various teams, manage system configurations, and provide end-user support for financial tools like OneStream, Hyperion, and Oracle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Assist in verifying the accuracy of financial reports (Exec Book, 10-K’s, 10-Q’s).
• Ensure that all month-end close processes are completed in a timely and accurate maer.
• Prepare and automate various components included in the monthly Exec Book.
• Provide end-user support for OneStream, including resolving system issues and providing training.
• Promote consistency in reporting and system use across business groups.
• Develop and maintain various financial reports (Balance Sheet, P&L, SAC, etc.) and dashboards.
• Create new reports as requested by accounting and finance teams.
• Offer end-user support for Oracle R12 and assist with financial reporting system configuration.
• Validate data integrity by comparing OneStream balances with Oracle balances.
• Develop and implement mass allocations.
• Actively participate in Internal Reporting Team projects, ensuring all schedules and tasks are managed.
• Manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for various financial applications and processes.
• Foster strong working relationships with accounting and other department teams.

Qualifications and Experience of Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, including month-end/year-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Hyperion Financial Reporting, Smart View, and Oracle Financial Systems.
• Ability to assess and recommend improvements for processes and procedures.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and work collaboratively with team members to find solutions.

Salary:

Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year
